One little anecdote that stuck in my mind from the exhibition on the papacy and the Vatican at the Basilique Notre-Dame:
The story of this old missionary who died while on a ship from China to Japan. His last imploring words were: "Anime!...Anime!".
Of course it's assumed he was using the plural of the latin Anima and was merely craving for more souls to "save", but I like to think that in his delirium he received visions of the future and was desperately trying to make sense of the giant robots and screaming schoolgirls...
